Command And Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars Scrin Units
Overview |
Scrin Units in C&C3:TW
Annihilator Tripod
A powerful, heavily armored unit that effective against any ground unit that becomes available to you late in the game. It has three, individual-targeting proton cannons. It is upgradeable with shields.
Assimilator
Scrin's engineer-type unit. It is cloaked, and can repair friendly structures (and Annihilator Tripods) and capture enemy structures and certain enemy units such as the Juggernaut and the Avatar.
Buzzers
So named for the unnerving sound they make as they approach, Buzzers are like a cloud of flying razors. They're very effective against infantry units, swarming them and cutting to pieces. They can attach themselves to Scrin vehicles, giving them additional protection against infantry.
Corrupter
These large, living vehicles are filled with a vile Tiberium-based concoction that can be sprayed across great distances, causing damage to buildings and infantry divisions. Ironically, these same toxins have a restorative effect on the Scrin's own forces, but a mutating effect to human infantry, causing them to transform to pulsating, violent, mindless creatures.
Devastator Warship
This is an aircraft-type unit that has long firing range, being ideal against enemy base defenses. Like some of the other units, it can be upgraded with shields. Note that it cannot attack air targets, so be careful. Much like the Storm Riders that provide covering fire for them, Devastator Warships also thrive in ion storms.
Devourer Tank
Scrin's basic tank unit. It has the ability of harvesting Tiberium for increased firepower.
Disintergrators
Basic Scrin infantry, strong against vehicles and structures, that explodes upon contact with enemy units.
Drone Ship
Scrin's equivalent of the MCV, allowing you construction of other structures in its radius. However, unlike the MCV, the Drone Ship hovers above the ground.
Floating Gatherer
A hovering unit that collects Tiberium, like the Harvester.
Gun Walker
A six-legged, lightly-armored vehicle armed with rapid-firing plasma weapons capable of tearing through infantry as well as fast-moving aircraft, although these "plasma spitters" are ineffective against heavier tank armor.
Mastermind
Scrin's elite commando-type unit. It can take out infantry with ease. Its special ability is to teleport units across the map, but it needs to charge with Tiberium beforehand. Masterminds also have the power of taking direct control of human vehicles, buildings, and infantry.
Mothership
Without a doubt, and the most powerful unit in the game. It is very slow, but when it comes above its target, it fires a massive beam destroying it instantly. With the cost of 5000 credits, it is also the most expensive unit in the game.
Planetary Assault Carrier
Planetary Assault Carrier is a massive battleship that contains a complement of Invader-class fighters particularly vicious when swarming ground targets, but even more effective when the Carrier stops to generate an ion storm around the outside of its hull.
Seeker Tank
Designed for scouting and light skirmishing, the Seeker Tank is equipped with advanced scanners, as well as plasma disc launchers whose ionized, superheated target-seeking warheads prove effective against armor and aircraft.
Shock Trooper
Advanced Scrin infantry-type unit that is good against vehicles and infantry. Fires electrical beams at a very fast rate. They come in squads.
Storm Rider
Fast, but lightly armored aircraft ideal for scouting the map. Equipped with twin plasma auto-cannons, they are effective against both ground and air forces, and benefit greatly from the unstable energy released by ion storms.
